The TG30-L Series Laser Thickness Gauge is specifically engineered for the rubber and tire manufacturing industry. Designed to withstand harsh environments such as high temperatures and heavy fume conditions typically found in calendering workshops, this system ensures accurate and reliable measurement of base weight and thickness for materials like rubber, fabric, and wire used in tire production.
The system consists of a host computer with a control unit, a laser thickness measurement unit, and a mechanical device for moving the detector. It offers consistent and precise measurements, forming a closed-loop control system with calendering equipment to manage thickness across two or three control zones. This helps ensure every component of the tire meets stringent production guidelines and high-quality standards.
Advantages of Laser Thickness Measurement
The TG30-L employs non-contact laser technology based on the triangulation principle, providing higher precision than traditional contact-type gauges. It avoids accuracy loss due to wear and is unaffected by the material type, texture, shape, or reflectivity of the object being measured.

Measurement Principle
The system uses integrated triangulation sensors to determine the distance from the mounting bracket to the object's surface. With the bracket's distance fixed, the object’s thickness is calculated by measuring the positions of the upper and lower surfaces using dual opposing laser displacement sensors.
(Thickness h = L - A - B)
As the thickness of the object changes, the position of the reflected laser light on the receiver shifts accordingly. The system computes the variation geometrically and outputs the thickness in digital or graphical formats.
